Key Programs Documented
Menstrual Health & Gender-Based Violence Awareness
In partnership with IMatter, Oxfam Kenya, and Enkare Oltau Volunteers, a program was implemented to address the challenges faced by girls due to lack of menstrual health products and limited understanding of menstrual health management.
Lack of access to sanitary products can place young girls at risk of exploitation, including transactional sex, particularly during school holidays when support systems may be limited.
As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the initiative focused on:
- • Providing Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) education
- • Promoting Menstrual Health Management (MHM) awareness
- • Distributing menstrual products to girls in four major areas in Nyanza with high prevalence of GBV
The initiative aimed to protect the dignity of young girls by ensuring they had both knowledge and resources to support their health and well-being. Spartan Photography Kenya documented the program through responsible and ethical visual storytelling, ensuring the campaign's impact could be communicated widely.

Education Support Programs
KCPE & KPSEA Candidate Support
Spartan Photography Kenya also documented a community initiative where Enkare Oltau Volunteers distributed essential exam materials to students preparing for national examinations.
The initiative supported Class 6 and Class 8 candidates across approximately 15 schools in areas including:
- • Dandora
- • Kariobangi
- • Mathare
- • Sinai
- • Mukuru
- • Ngomongo
Students received:
- • Essential examination sets
- • Clipboards
- • Stationery materials
For many students, these resources made a significant difference in their ability to prepare confidently for national exams. Spartan Photography Kenya provided photography and videography services throughout the distribution activities, capturing moments of joy, gratitude, and hope among the students.
Supporting Education & SDG 4
Another education-focused initiative documented by Spartan Photography Kenya took place at Ronald Ngala Primary School in Dandora.
During this program, students preparing for examinations received:
- • Stationery materials for their exams
- • Sanitary towels for girls
The objective was to ensure that girls do not miss school during exam periods due to lack of menstrual health products. This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4): Quality Education, which promotes inclusive and equitable education opportunities for all.
Volunteer Training & Organizational Orientation
Spartan Photography Kenya also documented orientation sessions for new Enkare Oltau Volunteers.
Each new volunteer undergoes a structured orientation process that includes:
- • Introduction to the organization's mission
- • Training on volunteer responsibilities
- • Understanding the volunteer code of conduct
- • Learning about Enkare Oltau's journey and vision
During one of the orientation sessions, the organization's founder shared the inspiring story behind the foundation, helping new volunteers understand the values guiding their service. Spartan Photography Kenya documented the session as new volunteers prepared to begin their journey in 2024.
Technology & Innovation Training
Spartan Photography Kenya also documented a drone technology training session for Enkare Oltau Volunteers.
The training was conducted in collaboration with:
- • American Center Nairobi
- • U.S. Embassy Nairobi
- • Kenya Flying Labs
The session introduced volunteers to the practical uses of drone technology beyond photography.
Participants learned how drones can be used in areas such as:
- • Afforestation through seedball distribution
- • Agricultural crop spraying
- • Delivery of medical supplies in remote regions
This training demonstrated how technology can support solutions to development challenges. Spartan Photography Kenya documented the event through photography coverage.
